YEREVAN. – A tragic incident took place in Yerevan yesterday. An entire [building] entrance—with 12 apartments—was destroyed by a natural gas explosion. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated about this at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the government of Armenia
"It should be noted with regret that a series such cases is recorded in Armenia, which once again should draw the attention of us all to the issue of observing the safety rules of using natural gas.
All the circumstances will be ascertained within the framework of the criminal case. But once again I want to ask our compatriots that each and every one of us pay special attention to the rules of using natural gas.
I can say that all the people deprived of their apartments are provided with temporary residence. They were offered to spend a week in a hotel before discussing and resolving their further issues. A number of families have preferred to move to other places.
The issue is on the agenda of the government and the city hall, and we will soon decide on what to do," the PM added.
