Postponement of examination of the appeal filed by co-founder of One Armenia Party Artur Ghazinyan with the demand for institution of a criminal case in regard to failure in the fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic was the investigator’s technical trick in court.
“The investigator hadn’t shown up, and I view this as disrespect towards the trial and view it as a technical trick to not allow for the appeal to be examined. The investigator knew very well that the report on the crime that I submitted is absolutely substantiated. I have presented irrefutable and well-known data, and even if there was 20% of the facts, the prosecutorial and investigative bodies in any legal state would simply be obliged to launch a criminal case. The case is under political supervision and is under the direct control of the political elite,” Ghazinyan said.
Ghazinyan informed that he has nearly 30 facts about the report that are known to the public. Asked if there is a guarantee that the court hasn’t received instructions from the political elite as well, Ghazinyan said he doesn’t have such a hypothesis since the courts have proved several times that they aren’t dictated by the political authorities and have been able to act contrary to the political will of the authorities.
Asked why he wasn’t wearing a face mask, Ghazinyan said the following: “I have declared that I am not going to wear a face mask in open spaces, and obviously, I may be fined, but I haven’t been fined yet. I have stated that I am ready to be fined, but I am not going to pay the fine. The Commandant is not a constitutional body and has no right or the power to adopt regulatory legal acts.”
