I am one of the founders of Prosperous Armenia Party and am not going to leave the party in any case. This is what deputy of the Prosperous Armenia faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Mikayel Melkumyan told reporters in parliament today.

“I not only implement, but also develop policies. Why should I leave?” he added.

Touching upon leader of the My Step faction Lilit Makunts’ statement that the Prosperous Armenia Party, which is preparing for public rallies, is under the influence of other political forces, Melkumyan said the following: “We can all comment on each other’s statements. This isn’t the first time Prosperous Armenia Party is organizing a public rally. Our political party is developing its own agenda. Prosperous Armenia Party is the second political party in the country and develops its policy independently.”

Asked if Levon Ter-Petrosyan persuaded leader of the political party Gagik Tsarukyan to demand the government’s resignation in 2015, Melkumyan said the following: “Persuasion is not a political category. If we go back to 2015, the situation was different. If you recall, the struggle began earlier, led to ex-Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s resignation and continued.”
