The 19-year-old boy who drowned in the Aragatsavan-Arteni canal of Armenia had entered the water in Aragatsavan village where he was working as a shepherd for the past few days, Aragatsavan community head Andranik Papikyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The locals often use this canal—which provides irrigation water to several villages—also for swimming, and this is not the first case of a person drowning there, the village head added.
This teen who drowned in the canal was from Arzni village.
