I’m in no way familiar with the conclusion of the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption, and I can’t even be familiar with it since it’s confidential. This is what candidate for judge of the Constitutional Court of Armenia Yervand Khundkaryan told reporters in parliament, touching upon press releases stating that the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption has given a negative conclusion regarding his integrity and has questioned his impartiality for working in the Constitutional Court.

“The conclusion of the Commission is only given to people who make the selection. I can only be familiar with the part that was published in the press. What I want to know is whether the presses accusing me of committing violations and shutting down the A1+ Armenian television channel have read the decision of the European Court of Human Rights or not. The decision states that there hasn’t been any violation of the right to a fair trial under the case of Khundkaryan,” he said.

Khundkaryan refuted news according to which former President Serzh Sargsyan or his relatives have had an impact on him. “Nobody has had and can’t have an influence on me. Be rest assured that no judge administers justice that will favor a certain person. I don’t accept that image of a judge,” he said.
