A short while ago, at the initiative of French-Armenian cardiovascular surgeon Levon Khachatryan and with the support of the Government of Armenia, French doctors arrived in Yerevan to help the servicemen and peaceful civilians who were wounded as a result of the war unleashed by Azerbaijan in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

“It is the duty of each and every Armenian to do something for the homeland in this or that way, and I tried to do something in this way. I am very thankful to my colleagues for responding to my call. They came with me without thinking twice,” Levon Khachatryan told reporters at Zvartnots International Airport.

The French doctors have experience in working in military zones. They will be in Armenia for a week, but if the situation changes, their plans will change as well.

When asked if they picture the conditions in which they are going to be working in and the amount of work they will be doing since Stepanakert and other cities of Artsakh are being shelled, the French doctors said they are afraid and not afraid and stated that their job is to support the wounded.
