YEREVAN. – This fight is not for Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)]; this fight is an attempt by Turkey to reshape the region. Arman Yeghoyan, an MP of the majority My Step, stated this Tuesday in a talk with reporters in the National Assembly of Armenia.

According to him, Azerbaijan no longer decides whether to attack or not, retreat, establish a ceasefire, and so on. "These decisions are [now] made in Turkey. By and large, it is not strange that Turkey does not take into account the ceasefire regime. There is a second reason: Even after a short ceasefire, the Azerbaijani society will have the opportunity to receive information from various sources about the real number of their losses, which will create serious internal political problems for the Azerbaijani leadership.

You know that the attacking side suffers many times more losses, and to suffer such losses for nothing, or for a [combat] position, even in exchange for a village, is a total defeat at the moment. That is why they [the Azerbaijani military] are trying to improve their positions as much as possible, so that when the number of their losses is revealed, they will at least have something to present to their society," Yeghoyan said.
