There are videos that Azerbaijanis have disseminated in which they disrespect Armenian servicemen. We interpret the statements of the Azerbaijanis, and I provide a commentary in a letter in which we indicate the violations. Our goal is to show the violations as a war crime. This is what Human Rights Defender of Armenia Arman Tatoyan told reporters in parliament today.

Tatoyan said the Office of the Human Rights Defender sends the letters to all deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE, the deputies of the European Parliament, the staffs of well-known media outlets, international organizations and all embassies in Armenia.

Touching upon the incident when Azerbaijanis beheaded an Armenian captive and called the latter’s brother and told him that they are going to disseminate the video on the Internet, Tatoyan said the following: “They post the video on the Internet and start rejoicing. Showing the gravity of the act to international partners is one thing, and showing how cynically it is done is another thing. Later, they prepare videos and send them to Armenian pages on the Internet. The Azerbaijani authorities tell the international community that they will live in peace with the Armenians later, but we see how much hatred there is and the crimes being committed based on that hatred. We have recorded the words they use, including in Turkish, and we show the international community that whatever is said to the latter is simply an illusion.”
