Armenian News - NEWS.am presents the latest news on the Nagorno-Karabakh clashes as of 06.11.2020:

•             On the night of November 5 and 6, hostilities continued in all the main directions of the Artsakh battlefront.

The Defense Army units conducted effective defensive battles and inflicted heavy military equipment and manpower losses on the Azerbaijani armed forces in the eastern, southern, and southwestern parts.

Attempts by the adversary to repeatedly attack Shushi town were also thwarted.

The adversary suffered heavy losses also in the southwestern—Berdzor—part.

Throughout the day, the adversary also carried out missile and artillery strikes at peaceful settlements and civilian infrastructures in Artsakh.

In the meantime, the Artsakh army has neutralized 10 Azerbaijan military equipment including Israel-made armored vehicles

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan has shelled the archaeological camp of Tigranakert.

At around 11:30 am, the air defense units of the Defense Army shot down an Azerbaijani drone in the southeastern direction of Artsakh.

•             The Artsakh capital Stepanakert was being shelled Friday noon by Azerbaijan with cluster bombs.

•             The enemy targets the city—with residential buildings, civil and public infrastructures.

•             There were affected among the civilian population as a result of the shooting on the night of November 5-6.

Several residential houses caught fire in Shushi, and there is destruction in the capital Stepanakert.

According to preliminary data, there are three casualties among the civilian population.

•             The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) had received accurate information, including from the associate intelligence services in the Middle East countries, about the engagement of militants from Syria in the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh, SVR director Sergey Naryshkin told RIA Novosti.

According to Naryshkin, the FSVR had “accurate information about the presence of terrorists—including from the Middle East and, first of all, from Syria—in the battle zone."

He also added that Turkish intelligence is involved in the events in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh with the permanent members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
