Former Chief of Police of Armenia Valeriy Osipyan is participating in the rally held with the demand for Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation at Freedom Square today.

Osipyan tlold reporters that he had returned to Armenia as soon as the war began to help the homeland as a high-ranking officer, but was infected with the coronavirus.

When told that he received the title of General from Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Osipyan said he had received it from the Republic of Armenia.

When told that citizens are chanting “Nikol traitor” at Freedom Square, Osipyan said he will stand with the people.

After shift of power in 2018, Osipyan, who was deputy chief of police of Yerevan at the time, was appointed Chief of Police of Armenia upon the recommendation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and by the decree of the President of Armenia on May 10, 2018. On September 18, 2019, he was dismissed, and the same day, he was appointed Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister, and on October 8, by the decision of Nikol Pashinyan, he was dismissed from that position.
