Russian President Vladimir Putin has highlighted the importance of returning the population in Karabakh to a peaceful life.

His remarks came at a meeting on resolving humanitarian issues in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

The Artsakh peace deal has been signed late on Monday by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The truce calls for the deployment of almost 2,000 Russian peacekeepers to the conflict zone, where Azerbaijan will receive significant territorial concessions.
