When the war began, we were in Mataghis, Askeran and other places and fought for the nation and land, and even though everything ended this way, I believe everything will be fine in the end. This is what 19-year-old fixed-term serviceman of the Defense Army of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Pailak Hovhannisyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Like all the other soldiers, I also fought against the enemy with a feeling of revenge,” he said, adding that one of his friends-in-combat says he and other soldiers continue to perform their tasks.

“We have the spirit, but we feel sad deep down inside. We haven't been defeated. We simply fought and didn't achieve results, but we will continue to fight,” he said.
