The opposition doesn’t consider its protests on the streets correct because I’m sure that it thinks that a government is usually so reasonable that it at least resigns voluntarily after betraying and being defeated. This is what member of Homeland opposition party Arsen Babayan told reporters in front of the Special Investigation Service of Armenia today, touching upon a reporter’s comment that President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said Armenia where the situation is complicated and which is on the brink of hostilities can’t allow itself to organize domestic political life and form power on the street, commenting on the situation in Armenia.

Babayan added that he doesn’t feel the need to respond to the statement of the President of Russia since it is the statement of the leader of Armenia’s partnering country and each country has its views. “After all, this is an issue that concerns Armenia, and the betrayal was against Armenia and the Armenians,” he added.

Asked if he doesn’t see a discrepancy between the opposition blaming Pashinyan for handing over the lands and asking him why he hadn’t agreed to hand over lands earlier, Babayan said there is no discrepancy since it is necessary to analyze the information that was received over the past few days.

“In particular, the chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces declared that on the fourth day of the war he had told Pashinyan that things would be worse if the war continued, but then we saw that there was an offer for certain actions and truce without handing Shushi over. Pashinyan should have talked to the public, or at least the parliament or the President. This allows us to become convinced that this deal was made with Pashinyan, that he was the party to this deal and that he personally led the operation for the handover of Shushi,” he stated.
