My opinion, which referred to the opposition, has not changed at all. This was stated Monday in a conversation with reporters by Arpi Davoyan, an MP of the ruling My Step bloc.
"There must be a wholesome opposition in any country. The opposition is an important institution for the development of each country. However, today the opposition [in Armenia] has one agenda: to assume power. These people do not have sound criticism, and they build their whole word around it. When the opposition, which speaks to the people with such texts, cannot but be considered a problem," Davoyan added.
According to her, the opposition should not speak out about the Armenian captives in Azerbaijan, as this is a very delicate and sensitive topic. “Speaking loudly about the captives may harm their return, but these people continue to speak loudly. One of the priority issues for Armenia is the return of captives. (…) and it is inadmissible [for the opposition] to collect dividends around it," the MP noted.
According to her, the Armenian society was divided into "blacks" and "whites" even before the 2018 revolution. "Have you seen how the representatives of the opposition are talking about the people? The same people who spoke out against during the revolution have now become opposition and speak out against the [current] government. Nothing has changed, they are the same people; they have remained. (…). Rumors of an early end to the [recent Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)] war are also speculations made by specific people. But the impossible was done so that the war would end soon," said Arpi Davoyan.
