YEREVAN. – Prosecutor Gevorg Baghdasaryan made a statement at Tuesday’s trial of the criminal case against Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan and several other former senior officials.

According to the statement, the court—presided over by Judge Anna Danibekyan—has allowed Kocharyan to be outside Armenia from February 3 to February 8. And based on this, the restrictions on him shall be temporarily suspended and then reapplied.

"The issue was raised at the previous session and was not explained. It is unclear to us on what grounds he was allowed to leave the country," the prosecutor said.

The court, in turn, stated that if the prosecution considers the decision unfounded, it can appeal it.

The prosecution asked for the documents on the basis of which the aforesaid decision was made.

And the court agreed to submit the required documents.
