You should be happy we have a minister who has meetings to solve the problem. This is what deputy of the My Step faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Andranik Kocharyan told reporters today, touching upon Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan, who had come to the National Assembly to meet with him.

Kocharyan said even though the ex-defense minister would also meet with him often, the meetings with the current minister are different in terms of quality. “There are several laws that we are working on, and we hold meetings devoted to those laws. We have problems to solve in the post-war period in terms of the legislature and government, as well as replenishment of the army,” he added.

Touching upon yesterday’s statement by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan who said there is another agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia in addition to the two existing agreements, Kocharyan said he wasn’t aware of that. One of the reporters reminded the sensational statement by ex-Prime Minister of Armenia Hrant Bagratyan regarding the third agreement, to which Kocharyan said the following: “Hrant Bagratyan is putting Armenia’s security at risk with his interviews. The most dangerous statement was that there has never been a Defense Army.”

When told that deputy of the ruling My Step faction Anush Beghloyan claims that Armenia hasn’t had an army for 30 years, Kocharyan responded by asking reporters to ask Beghloyan how could Armenians win the first war in Artsakh, if they didn’t have an army 30 years ago.
