The Yerevan court of general jurisdiction is currently examining the appeal of attorneys against the decisions of the Special Investigation Service and the Prosecutor General’s Office to reject institution of a criminal case against Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

On November 10, the day the regions of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) were transferred to Azerbaijan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan went live on Facebook and declared the following: “I call on all citizens who understand what is happening to prepare for revenge, prepare for revenge! These corrupt, oligarchic swindlers…Yes, we haven’t handled them the right way. We haven’t handled those who robbed the country and stole the food and weapons of soldiers and the dignity of citizens the right way, and I apologize for that. I call on all the citizens who understand what I am talking about to prepare for revenge because yes, we need to take revenge of our soldiers over them, we need to take the revenge of our lost homeland over them. The robbers of the Republican Party of Armenia and the Prosperous Armenia Party and the deserters of the homeland who left the military positions must be sentenced for desertion. Today those who robbed the country are entering regional governors’ offices and the copper-molybdenum factory, thinking it’s their time to act…their time won’t come, the time for citizens’ revenge has come! Those who sold the homeland think they can leave the burden of the homeland on us…this is ruled out. I call on all dignified citizens of Armenia to be ready, we’re going to go after them, one by one, and we’re going to go after their chiefs. We’re going to go after the corrupt sector of the Dashnaktsutyun political party. The people who sold the homeland and sold the liberated territories for money, regarding which there is a criminal case launched, shouldn’t think that they will succeed amid all this…it is ruled out.”

The attorneys having filed the report are certain that the Prime Minister’s statement contains elements of an article of the Criminal Code (threat to kill, cause severe harm to health or destroy property).
