YEREVAN. – The investigative body of Armenia is carrying out a political order against Vazgen Manukyan; lawyer Aram Vardevanyan told this to reporters.
When asked why and what charges were brought against ex-PM Manukyan—the PM candidate of the opposition Homeland Salvation Movement, the attorney said that it was about calling on the General Staff and the Armed Forces not to carry out illegal orders. "That is, according to the Investigative Committee, it is a call for illegal actions. This is complete nonsense and another example of carrying out a political order. We will petition for the dropping of the criminal case. If they do not drop [it], we will meet in court," the lawyer concluded.
As previously reported, Vazgen Manukyan is charged with making public calls for overthrowing the constitutional order and seizing power in Armenia.
