Armenia’s opposition Homeland Salvation Movement has launched its subsequent rally on Marshal Baghramyan Avenue in Yerevan.
During the last rally on March 6, the members of the opposition stated that President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian still had time to apply to the Constitutional Court with the request to determine the constitutionality of the Prime Minister’s petition for dismissal of Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Onik Gasparyan, and some lawyers say today marks the end of the period for applying to the Constitutional Court.
Sarkissian still hasn’t applied to the Constitutional Court. Earlier, he had declared that he wouldn’t sign the decree on dismissing Gasparyan, but he also wouldn’t apply to the Constitutional Court.
The representatives of the Homeland Salvation Movement also declare that the Prime Minister’s petition is unconstitutional.
