YEREVAN. – I am sorry to say that after a long break, we have a significant increase in new one-day cases of coronavirus; more than 700. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the government of Armenia.

Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, in turn, presented the current respective situation in the country. "At the moment, we have nine expanded medical centers that serve COVID patients, and we have about 100 free beds [left]. Expansion work is in progress at the moment, too, but I want to alert that the number of beds is not inexhaustible, and everything must be done to ensure that the number of [coronavirus] patients [in Armenia] does not exceed our capacity and that we again don’t have patients who will stay at home and will not have the opportunity to be hospitalized."

And Pashinyan called for observance of anti-epidemic rules so that there will be no need to impose additional coronavirus-related restrictions in Armenia.
