We are in favor of a meeting in the format proposed by the President of Armenia and with our agenda, but we view a meeting in other formats as formal and nonsensical. This is what coordinator of the opposition Homeland Salvation Movement, representative of the Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun political party Ishkhan Saghatelyan told reporters near the statue of Soghomon Tehlirian today.

Touching upon leader of Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan’s statement that his political party is ready to go to snap parliamentary elections in case Nikol Pashinyan resigns, Saghatelyan said the political parties forming a part of the Movement can have different views on the resignation of the current government of evil, but there is a consensus that Nikol Pashinyan must resign as soon as possible. He added that the snap elections organized by these authorities won’t be competitive.

Asked if the Movement will continue to work with Tsarukyan, Saghatelyan said the following: “Of course, we will continue to work together. There will be more acts of disobedience. The whole problem is that if Nikol Pashinyan wants to organize elections, he is free to do so. If he wants to organize elections and isn’t pursuing other goals, let him organize them, there is no need to address Prosperous Armenia Party and Bright Armenia Party.”

Saghatelyan stated that he is certain that Tsarukyan won’t sign a memorandum with Nikol Pashinyan. “There is a precedent, but in October 2018, Nikol Pashinyan didn’t have political majority in parliament. At the time, signing a memorandum was logical, but not now. I think Nikol should go and sign a memorandum with the deputies of his faction because he doesn’t trust them,” he said.
