YEREVAN. – A group of protesters closed off Sayat-Nova Avenue—in downtown Yerevan—with garbage cans.
One of the demonstrators told reporters that they could no longer live in a country whose prime minister was a traitor.
"He [Armenia’s PM Nikol Pashinyan] sold and is selling our lands. Our goal is for the prime minister to resign and for [snap parliamentary] elections to take place. We want our people to live in a normal country and decide for themselves who they want to be their leader, not the traitor. This is the Liberation Movement, and by this we show that we are intensifying our activities, that we are not going to tolerate what is happening in Armenia. We show that we are ready to act," he added in particular.
Shortly afterwards, police arrived at the scene and cleared the avenue, moving the garbage bins to the sidewalk.
