YEREVAN. – The Iskander [missile system] was used [by Armenia in the recent Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) war], and the Iskander cannot be used and not explode, and only the adversary can provide information about the damages suffered [by the Iskander]. Movses Hakobyan, former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, told this to a press conference Tuesday.

According to Hakobyan, the area where the Iskander missile system was used is not well visible from afar; in addition, the day of its use was cloudy, which also affects visibility. "The most important [thing] is the damage caused by the explosions, which only the adversary can say—if we did not take back those territories later. We have not taken back the area where [the Iskander] was used, and [therefore] we cannot record the results. Only Azerbaijan could have told the prime minister [of Armenia] about the results. You have to work with the adversary that it give the data on how effective the Iskander was; [but] I believe Azerbaijan will never give us such data," Movses Hakobyan added.
