YEREVAN. – At Thursday's Cabinet meeting, the government of Armenia appointed Hayk Ghalumyan as Governor of Tavush Province.
Ghalumyan is the wedding best man of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the acting mayor of Ijevan—Pashinyan’s hometown—since September 14, 2019, and on Wednesday he was relieved of this post.
In the previous Cabinet session of the government, then Tavush provincial governor Hayk Chobanyan was dismissed in this capacity and appointed as Minister of High-Tech Industry.
