YEREVAN. – The opposition Homeland Party has decided to run in the snap parliamentary elections in Armenia. Sos Hakobyan, the party's spokesman, stated about this at Saturday's press conference, and read the respective statement of the party board.

"The Board of the Homeland Party decided to run in the possible snap parliamentary elections, and start the process of forming a [respective] bloc with the [former ruling] Republican Party of Armenia.

Recording that a broad national unity against a catastrophic and defeatist regime is a vital necessity in this crisis situation, we are convinced that, with this bloc, we will fulfill the will and dream of our nation and people," the statement reads, in particular.

The Homeland Party spokesperson added that there is no information about the electoral list, name and platform of this bloc yet, and that these will probably be determined when there will be a formal decree on calling elections.
