YEREVAN. – More than half of the 503 fire hydrants installed in Yerevan have not been working for years, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

At the suggestion of MES, however, the city hall has developed a program whereby the old fire hydrants will be repaired and new ones will be installed, too, in 2021.

In the initial phase of this program, ten new fire hydrants will be installed and another 38 are being repaired.

The process has started, and two fire hydrants have been tested already.
