YEREVAN. – If the former authorities of Armenia really want to change the country's political leadership, they must leave the political process. Edmon Marukyan, chairman of the opposition Bright Armenia Party (BAP) and head of its faction in the National Assembly (NA), on Monday said this during the traditional briefings at the NA.
He stated that the revolutionary processes in Armenia took place only recently, noting that three years is a very short time. "And the people see their [the former authorities’] active participation, which is somewhat exaggerated, which is beneficial for the current government, which benefits from it, declaring: ‘They [the former authorities] will come [back to power] now, so elect us!’
And I had said that if they [the former authorities] start getting active and deepen the process of division of society, with that, they will provide great service and support to [acting PM] Nikol Pashinyan. You can see that through surveys, too," Marukyan added.
