All the statements made in Azerbaijan today should be viewed in the context of internal political processes in Armenia. Second President Robert Kocharyan, who heads the “Armenia” bloc ahead of the snap parliamentary elections on June 20, stated this at Tuesday’s press conference of the leaders of this bloc.

"From that point of view, we must do everything possible so that our domestic political agenda is not dictated by Azerbaijan. I do not doubt what preferences they [the Azerbaijanis] have in the context of these elections. I do not doubt who they would like to see elected Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia [i.e., acting PM Nikol Pashinyan]. And this means that they will try to take steps to influence our electoral process, both through statements and other steps. The formula should be like this: Azerbaijan should never dictate an agenda for Armenia. If we can all look at the issue from that angle, you will be able to not to be subjected to such influences," he said.

When asked whether Azerbaijan is preaching peace by promoting Nikol Pashinyan's reproduction; that is, whether they are directing the Armenian society? Kocharyan responded: "Yes. Can't you see they're trying to direct? "

And reflecting on Pashinyan's statement that if Azerbaijan agrees to the presented conditions, the document on delimitation is 100% in Armenia's interests and he will sign it, Kocharyan said: "How many times in the last three years have you heard assurances of 100% correspondence with the interests of Armenia in this or that direction? We always hear such statements. In that case, why have we ended up in today’s sad situation? Every citizen of the Republic of Armenia should ask himself that question. I can definitely say that no step that would be in the interests of the Republic of Armenia has been taken at all during these three years."
