It’s clear that we are in a very frustrating and emotional situation, but we need to be sound and balanced. This is what acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated during a visit to Kut village of Gegharkunik Province.

“Nobody should think that the government is secretly making deals and is acting in conspiracy. Keep being persistent. We must not take actions based on emotions,” Pashinyan said, adding that it is necessary to understand and analyze the situation.

“They want to take our sovereignty, our state, our homeland from us. The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict wasn’t settled before September 27, 2020 because Azerbaijan always tried to gain more concessions after Armenia made a compromise. Today, it’s clear that Azerbaijan has violated the state border of Armenia. We can’t talk about ceding because if we cede, the Azerbaijanis will get more excited. This is our sovereign territory, and the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan must leave. We need to be persistent, but we also need to keep the situation under control,” Pashinyan said.

Six servicemen of the Armenian armed forces were surrounded and captured by the soldiers of the Azerbaijani armed forces in the early morning of Thursday, while carrying out engineering work at the protection area of their military unit at the border area of Gegharkunik Province.

Necessary measures are being taken to have these captured servicemen returned, the Armenian Ministry of Defense informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The Azerbaijani defense ministry has issued a statement noting that these soldiers were in the territory of Azerbaijan. However, the defense ministry of Armenia has already refuted the statement.
