Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Major General Eduard Asryan explained the difficulties with settlement of the border with Azerbaijan during today’s press conference.

Asked how it became clear that the border is actually open and that Azerbajiani subdivisions can illegally invade the territory of Armenia, the army general said the situation changed after November 10, 2020, meaning the length of the borer has become sharply longer. “In many sectors, Armenian soldiers perform their military in very difficult conditions. In certain areas, the distance between military posts is 2-4 km. Taking all this into consideration, Azerbaijan managed to advance in several directions on May 12,” he said.

The army general also assured that it was simply impossible to equip the border properly and completely in the course of six months.
