YEREVAN. – Prior to the meeting of the Security Council of Armenia, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented the contents of the new document to Acting Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian, and the latter made no objections at all. Lilit Makunts, head of the parliamentary majority faction of the My Step ruling bloc, stated this Monday during the traditional briefings at the National Assembly.

Therefore, according to Makunts, Aivazian's resignation has nothing to do with this document. "I can not say anything about the reason for his resignation, as I have no information on that matter," said the head of the parliamentary faction.

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ara Aivazian submitted his resignation on May 27. This happened after Pashinyan announced a plan to de-escalate the situation on the border with Azerbaijan. It is about the incursion—ever since May 12—of Azerbaijani military units into the sovereign territory of Armenia.
