Today I am told that I was giving Meghri and providing a corridor through Meghri, but the idea of giving Meghri was presented at the negotiating table back in 1998. This is what acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said during a meeting with his supporters in the city of Artashat of Ararat Province.

“I don’t want to hide the fact that the topic of Meghri and the villages of Kazakh region were considered in November 2020. The chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces was telling me to sign the document the way it was written, but I said if I signed that, I would cut my hands, and at that moment, there were two people present. This is the reality. You let these issues be presented at the negotiating table and let go of the most important formula for peace, and it had to be the following: the country had to develop,” Pashinyan declared.
