Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today visited the Scientific and Practical Forensic Science Center in the city of Abovyan, Kotayk province.
Nikol Pashinyan examined the center and familiarized himself with the working conditions. Acting Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan presented the work on the modernization of forensic medical examination centers in Abovyan and other cities of Armenia.
In particular, changes were noted in terms of the expansion of refrigeration capacity, the provision of laboratory facilities, as well as services in accordance with the necessary forensic standards.
The acting Prime Minister was given clarifications in connection with the footage published a few days ago in the Abovyan morgue, testifying to the improper storage of the bodies of military personnel. The bodies were reportedly taken to the Abovyan morgue for DNA sampling and identification, as the device needed for DNA testing was in the Abovyan center. The bodies are now in the Martuni morgue and stored in appropriate conditions.
Nikol Pashinyan noted that the government will consistently and promptly carry out reforms of the system to build up the necessary professional and working potential.
