Newly appointed Ambassador of Italy to Armenia Alfonso di Rizzo today presented his Letters of Credence to President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian.
Sarkissian congratulated the Ambassador, wished him success and said he looks forward to active cooperation. He also mentioned that the relations between Armenia and Italy are built on strong and centuries-old foundations and that the two countries and peoples are similar in terms of their value systems.
Ambassador Alfonso di Rizzo transmitted the warm greetings and kind wishes of President of Italy Sergio Matarella and added that he is ready to make more efforts to advance the traditional and friendly relations between the two countries in different sectors.
Attaching importance to President Armen Sarkissian’s state visit to Italy that was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Ambassador expressed confidence that the visit will serve as a great impetus and lay the foundation for expansion of the bilateral cooperation.
The parties also touched upon the current level of and potential for development of the Armenia-Italy relations.
