Today, Manik Atchemyan, mother of Albert Hovhannisyan who died during the 44-day war [in Nagorno-Karabakh], was summoned to the Special Investigation Service for an interview under the criminal case regarding professor and member of ‘Armenia’ bloc (the bloc won seats in parliament after the recent snap parliamentary elections) Armen Charchyan, who is also the director of Izmirlian Medical Center. Atchemyan works at Izmirlian Medical Center.
“The loss of her son had an indescribable impact on her. Mrs. Atchemyan is in a very emotional state. Nevertheless, she respects the law and will definitely fulfill her duty, that is, she will show up to the body implementing proceedings as a witness. Since she can’t come to the interview, we deemed it necessary to show up to the body implementing proceedings to provide more detailed information,’ Atchemyan’s lawyer Artur Nahapetyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Asked if other medical workers of Izmirlian Medical Center have been summoned to interviews as well, the lawyer stated that he didn’t have any information about that, but said it’s not ruled out.
