YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s official visit to Lithuania continues. The PM on Monday met with speaker Viktorija Cmilyte-Nielsen of the Lithuanian Seimas (parliament), Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the government of Armenia.

The interlocutors stressed the importance of developing and strengthening cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, and stressed the importance of interparliamentary ties.

The parties touched also upon the democratic reforms being implemented in Armenia, and the cooperation in their effective implementation.

The speaker of the Lithuanian legislature noted that her country is ready to closely cooperate with Armenia within the framework of the EU Eastern Partnership program, noting that the Lithuanian side will assist Armenia in the run-up to the Eastern Partnership summit in December.

At the end of the meeting, PM Pashinyan made a note in the book of honored guests of the Seimas, then got familiarized with the articles presented at exhibition that has opened at the Seimas—and dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Armenian-Lithuanian relations—of publications in the Lithuanian press of the late 19th and early 20th centuries on the history of the Armenian people.
