In regard to the mine maps, we need to ask Pashinyan what he and Aliyev have agreed on. This is what leader of the opposition “Armenia” faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan told reporters today.

According to him, if the Azerbaijanis intended to return the captives, they would have returned them already since this is a requirement stated in the statement signed on November 9, 202, but Azerbaijan s keeping the Armenian captives in order to exert pressure on Armenia.

Ohanyan noted that there hasn’t been a specific evaluation of the military-political situation in the past year and there are no actions that are adequate to the strengthening of the security system.

“Armenia is delaying, and this is becoming a reason for pressure from Baku and Ankara. We need to act rapidly and adequately assess the war that took place last year,” Ohanyan added.

“If the incumbent authorities had experience and relevant capabilities, they should have understood that the adversary won’t cede positions in which it is carrying out engineering works. This is why they needed to become strong and then lead negotiations. There is no legal ground. There are no maps that would become a basis for delimitation and demarcation. In the current situation, concluding a peace treaty with Azerbaijan will mean recognition of its territorial integrity, which will deal a blow to Artsakh,” Ohanyan emphasized.
