The personal talks between Presidents of Armenia and Italy Armen Sarkissian and Sergio Mattarella were held at Qurinal Palace (the Italian presidential residence).

Presidents Sarkissian and Mattarella touched upon the centuries-old Armenian-Italian friendship, as well as the strong interstate relations established during the past years following the establishment of diplomatic relations and the prospects for development of those relations. They stated that the Armenian and Italian peoples, as bearers of the world’s ancient civilizations, have rich chronology of relations that are based on close historical ties and the system of Christian values with the same sources.

The Armenian and Italian presidents also exchanged views on the agenda of bilateral relations, as well as regional and global developments and issues.
