In the stage of preparation and in the stage of demarcation and delimitation of the borders, what is first and foremost important are the maps, not the legal acts that are ratified, are legally qualified and on the basis of which those maps were prepared. This is what Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan said in response to deputies’ questions during today’s question-and-answer session with government officials in the National Assembly.
Nevertheless, according to Grigoryan, those maps need to be explored.
Deputy of the opposition “Armenia” faction of the National Assembly Artur Khachatryan asked the Deputy Prime Minister if Armenia will demand that Azerbaijan pull out its occupation troops from Shushi, Hadrut and Shahumyan region within the scope of demarcation and delimitation of the border.
“A complete and comprehensive study of the legal grounds will help make it clear which map will serve as a basis for organizing the process in the sense of scheme,” Grigoryan said.
Moreover, he mentioned the need for thorough study of the documents that the two parties to the conflict agreed upon and on the basis of which the maps were prepared.
