The matter of electing the deputy chair of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia was on the agenda of Tuesday's meeting of this committee.

The chair of this committee, Andranik Kocharyan from the majority “Civil Contract” Faction, stated that the leader of the opposition "Armenia" Faction—and former defense minister—, Seyran Ohanyan, had nominated Artur Ghazinyan for the eleventh time to the aforesaid position.

The majority pro-government MPs of this committee, however, again did not confirm Ghazinyan's candidacy for the post of deputy chair of the committee.
