The Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly, at its meeting Wednesday, approved the government-tabled draft law on amendments to the law on holidays and remembrance days in Armenia.

It is noteworthy that in the period between the first and the second readings of this bill, a change has been made in it, and now it is proposed to set not only December 31, January 1 and January 6, but also January 2 as a non-working day during the New Year and Armenian Christmas (January 6) holidays in Armenia.

"We want to propose a change in the first to second readings and include January 2 in the list of non-working days," said minister of economy Vahan Kerobyan.

Under the current law on holidays and remembrance days, from December 31 to January 7 are non-working days in Armenia.
