Azerbaijanis opened fire at a tractor performing agricultural works in the section of Khachik village of Vayots Dzor Province of Armenia this afternoon, head of Khachik village Hovik Smbatyan said during a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The Azerbaijanis fired at a tractor. The windows of the tractor were damaged, and thank God the driver wasn’t hurt, he was saved by a miracle since he was sitting in the tractor at that moment. After the gunshot was fired, the resident drove away and returned,” the head of the village said, adding that the Azerbaijanis didn’t fire any more gunshots.

GENOCIDE BILL

The House of Commons of the UK Parliament adopted the bill recognizing the Armenian Genocide in the first reading. This is stated in the press release issued by the Armenian National Committee of the UK.

The bill was presented as a ten-minute rule motion by Tim Loughton MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Armenia.

The Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly, at its meeting Wednesday, approved the government-tabled draft law on amendments to the law on holidays and remembrance days in Armenia.

It is noteworthy that in the period between the first and the second readings of this bill, a change has been made in it, and now it is proposed to set not only December 31, January 1, and January 6, but also January 2 as a non-working day during the New Year and Armenian Christmas (January 6) holidays in Armenia.

COVID-19

As of Wednesday morning, 1,675 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed in Armenia, and the total number of these cases has reached 324,039 in the country.

Also, 69 more deaths from COVID-19 were registered, making the respective total 6,831 cases.
