This section of the road has a special status, and because of this, the customs points that may be installed, at the moment Azerbaijan has not informed about the procedure, but the logic suggests that the procedure may be a certain toll or something. Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, said this Thursday in his briefing with reporters after the Cabinet meeting of the government of Armenia.
"Citizens can travel [on the Goris-Kapan motorway] by paying [a toll]. As we have an alternative road, it has already been built—that is, the Kapan-Tatev road has been completely repaired—and yesterday we announced that the road is open, so it is completely convenient for the citizens to use that road," he said.
And to the question why the Armenian side will also set up customs checkpoints on the Goris-Kapan motorway, the Security Council chief responded: "If these possible roads are used also by the Azerbaijani citizens, we will also implement a corresponding policy."
"We, naturally, considered it a priority not to have any deal in the corridor logic," the Security Council secretary added.
