MOSCOW. – Russian military police units have safely escorted more than 8,000 traveling vehicles—about 200 convoys—in Nagorno-Karabakh during the year of their peacekeeping operations, reported the press service of the Russian defense ministry.

Large trucks loaded with construction materials and food are escorted along the Shushi-Karmir Shuka-Kajar route and in the opposite direction.

The escorting is carried out along the dirt road of the highland area with difficult-to-pass sections—and with more than 40 trucks.

In the area of responsibility of five observation points, the Russian peacekeepers ensure the safe movement of vehicles in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Also, the military police units of the Russian peacekeeping contingent are regularly engaged in ensuring the safety of humanitarian operations and patrolling the Lachin corridor.
