There can’t be a situation where an order was given to ‘not open fire’ or not protect the borders when it came to protection of Armenia’s borders is impossible. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said in response to a question from deputy of the opposition “With Honor” faction of the National Assembly of Armenia, expert on security issues Tigran Abrahamyan during today’s question-and-answer session with government officials in parliament today.

The deputy particularly asked who had ordered ‘to not fire’ at the Azerbaijani soldiers who were advancing.

“There was no order given to show resistance during Azerbaijan’s aggression on Armenia’s eastern borders yesterday. Who gave the order to not open fire at the adversary? Some videos show that one of the military posts was seized without any firing or resistance,” Abrahamyan said, to which Pashinyan said the following with doubt:

“It’s not possible that an order was given ‘to not open fire’ or not protect the borders when it comes to protection of Armenia’s state borders. This will be directly viewed as state treason. Anyone who gives a written or verbal order ‘to not open fire’ during defense of a sovereign territory of Armenia is committing state treason,” the Prime Minister declared.
