So, Armenia lost not only the Goris-Kapan motorway, but also the Kapan-Tchakatashen motorway, meaning the residents of four Armenian villages, who are 600 in number, need to drive 150 km and make a detour through Meghri and Kajaran to reach Kapan. This is what deputy of the opposition “Armenia” Faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Vahe Hakobyan told reporters today.

Touching upon the Tatev-Kapan alternative road, Hakobyan stated that it is built according to a wrong plan, that is, it is rather narrow.

According to the deputy, the Angeghakot-Shaghat road is under intensive construction. “If we look at the map on Google, we will see that the next stop is the border of Nakhchivan where the Azerbaijanis have already built and set up a customs terminal. The Azerbaijanis’ actions in that sector give us the right to believe that they will try to obtain a road through that section,” he said, adding that Nikol Pashinyan is trying to reject the agreement since he knows that this will lead to the end of his political career.

As far as the upcoming Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting in Brussels is concerned, Hakobyan said he believes Pashinyan and Aliyev disregarded Moscow when they agreed to meet. He added that the “Armenia” Faction has organized hearings and invited all extra-parliamentary forces to develop a strategy to act against the incumbent authorities.
