  • Great Armenian poet Razmik Davoyan has passed away Tuesday morning in Yerevan, his wife told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Davoyan was born on July 3, 1940, in Mets Parni village of Spitak town.

He was the author of more than 40 collections and books—including in Russian, Czech, and English.

His works have been published in Italian, French, Yugoslav, Iranian, Chinese, and American periodicals.

  • Flyone Armenia and Pegasus airlines received a permit from the Civil Aviation Committee to realize non-scheduled flights on Yerevan-Istanbul-Yerevan route, Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure informed NEWS.am about this.

Armenian Flyone Armenia Airline has already received a civil aviation permit for the Yerevan-Istanbul-Yerevan charter flights and was waiting for the Turkish side's permission. Earlier the Turkish Pegasus Airlines applied to the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia with a request to allow the Istanbul-Yerevan-Istanbul flights. The Turkish airline intends to operate two flights a week.

  • Azerbaijanis threw stones at an Armenian car on the Stepanakert-Goris road. The incident took place in the area of Azerbaijani occupied Shushi.

On January 10, a resident of Vanadzor reported to the Kashatagh police department that he was provoked on the Stepanakert-Goris road.

Azerbaijanis threw stones at the car, the front part of the car was damaged. The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

  • US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and Turkish Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin discussed the normalization process between Ankara and Yerevan.

According to Sabah, the sides discussed bilateral political and economic ties and the development of security cooperation during their telephone conversation. The sides discussed the details of the joint strategic mechanism agreed upon between Turkey and the US.

  • In a multi-part film about the events of World War II, Armenia was shown in its historical borders, including the territory of modern Turkey, ermenihaber.am reported.

Earlier, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has announced that CSTO troops will pull out from Kazakhstan within ten days, Tengrinews.kz reports.

"The main mission of the CSTO peacekeeping contingent is over [in Kazakhstan], the withdrawal of troops will begin in two days. The CSTO troops will be withdrawn within ten days," Tokayev told a Mazhilis—the lower house of the Kazakh bicameral parliament—session.

  • A US man has become the first person in the world to get a heart transplant from a genetically-modified pig, BBC News reported.

David Bennett, 57, is doing well three days after the experimental seven-hour procedure in Baltimore, doctors say.

The transplant was considered the last hope of saving Bennett's life, though it is not yet clear what his long-term chances of survival are.

The possibility of using animal organs for so-called xenotransplantation to meet the demand has long been considered, and using pig heart valves is already common.
