The international community cannot replace the political will of the parties, Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schalenberg told Wednesday at a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan.
The Austrian minister was asked about the solution of humanitarian problems arising from the aggression of Azerbaijan, primarily the Armenians held captive in Baku and the protection of the Armenian cultural heritage in the territories occupied by Azerbaijan, and the role of the international community in solving humanitarian issues.
Ignoring a directly asked question, the minister launched into arguments about the political will of the parties. Reaffirming the position of Austria and the EU that the conflict should be resolved within the framework of the OSCE, the minister said that the international community cannot replace the political will of the parties.
According to him, Yerevan and Baku should show their will.
He added that the international community, can only contribute, but the courage of the parties is needed.
