A protest action was held near the building of the European Union Delegation to Armenia on Thursday.
"The silence of Western, especially European structures, in connection with the ugly processes in our country is simply unacceptable," said human rights activist Ruben Melikyan.
According to him, this unacceptable silence is one of the reasons for the pressure of the authorities in various areas - freedom of speech, independence of the judiciary, local self-government, fair trial, personal freedom, media freedom.
This week, the court in Yerevan ruled to arrest the judge of the court of general jurisdiction of Syunik province Boris Bakhshiyan. An Armenian judge was arrested in what he sees as government retaliation for his decision late last month to grant bail to an opposition figure detained in December.
