A peace treaty with Azerbaijan has always been the ultimate goal of all of us. Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Foreign Minister David Babayan told this to reporters in Yerevan on Saturday.

"With that, the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict must be resolved once and for all," he added. "It is [altogether] another matter that Azerbaijan has a different idea. It wants the Armenians to leave Artsakh—and it does not hide that. Therefore, there is a need to work on a peace agreement. But I believe that Azerbaijan will attempt to torpedo this good initiative of the Armenian side."

"We have always said that Stepanakert believes that the conflict can be resolved only in case of reconciliation of the [two] societies. The Azerbaijani society, sadly, is not ready. The problem here is not the people. There are no good and bad nations; there are good and bad leaders. We have a state—represented by Azerbaijan—that has turned Nazism into a state policy," concluded the Artsakh FM.
